W is for Winter!

Brrrrr! It's been a cool week here at PreK! We learned all about the letter W and practiced vocabulary words such as waffle, wagon, window, watermelon, and winter. We also talked about winter weather and what types of clothing we wear when it is cold outside. We played a clothing sorting game on the Smartboard and made winter clothing collages out of magazine pictures. We also practiced counting mittens, snowmen, and snowflakes. Check out the picture below of our friend Ian, counting snowflakes.

Next week we will be celebrating the 100th day of school! It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for 100 days...Spring Break will be here before we know it! As part of our celebration, we will doing all sorts of counting! Check out the video below to practice counting at home with your child!

Next week our literacy focus will be on the letter Y.We will also continue reading nursery rhymes such as Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Old Mother Hubbard, and Little Miss Muffet. Click HERE to play a nursery rhyme game from Sesame Street.
